Sofitel Palais Jamai Fes

Description: This hotel was built in 1879 in classic Arab-Moorish style and became a home for the high minister of the former king Moulay Hassan 1. It was transformed into a hotel in the 1930s. The hotel stands in the midst of an Andalusian garden. The hotel overlooks the medina, has a spa, weight room, hammam and sauna. They also offer massages and beauty treatments. There are also conference rooms available for seminars. There are three restaurants, a piano bar and tennis courts.

The food at the Palais Jamai is has a great reputation. The roast lamb (mechoui) comes at the recommendation of Travel and Liesure Magazine who included the hotel on their list of Top 500 World Hotels and the food produced in the kitchen has been labeled “difficult to match.” The hotel is also known for investing its efforts in the hotel schools throughout the country for the preservation and development of Moroccan cuisine.
